Georgian · Modern Mkhedruli
Writing system course · 7 lessons · 33 entries
33 supplied modern letter forms in 7 short lessons, with Latin readings, numerical values and available Arabic equivalents.
Mkhedruli is the script used for modern Georgian writing. Begin with its 33 modern letters and compare each shape with its supplied name and Latin reading. The five obsolete letters in the uploaded chart are retained as correspondences in the historical courses rather than mixed into the modern alphabet.
Some source readings use an apostrophe for ejective consonants, such as k’ or t’. These sounds need listening and speaking practice as well as visual recognition. The supplied numeral values and Arabic equivalents are reference aids, not claims that two languages have identical sounds.
How to practice
Look at the letter and its supplied reading, then trace it and practice recognition, production and writing from memory. Choose the available representations when adding the course. The Georgian input palette supports typing when your device keyboard is unavailable.
