Georgian · Historical Asomtavruli
Writing system course · 8 lessons · 38 entries
38 supplied historical letter forms in 8 short lessons, with Latin readings and names.
Asomtavruli is the inscriptional form of the historical Georgian script. Compare its shapes with modern Mkhedruli correspondences while learning the supplied names and readings. It can be studied alongside Nuskhuri, the other historical form represented in this collection.
This course keeps the 38 supplied chart entries, including letters no longer used in the modern 33-letter alphabet. Several source glyphs mixed in modern-script characters; the main display uses the corresponding Asomtavruli Unicode forms while keeping the originals in provenance.
How to practice
Look at the letter and its supplied reading, then trace it and practice recognition, production and writing from memory. Choose the available representations when adding the course. The Georgian input palette supports typing when your device keyboard is unavailable.
