Demotic reading
Writing system course · 11 lessons · 1,011 entries
Begin recognizing Demotic signs, then work through the reading lessons.
The first lesson collects uniliteral sign images and their supplied readings. Later lessons extend the collection. Look closely at the shape of each sign: the image is the object of study, while the adjacent transliteration is a reading aid.
Read these examples freely without an account. In the app you can preview lessons, study a private copy and progress through the course one lesson at a time.
Examples from the lessons
Compare the original written form with the supplied reading or equivalent. Try covering the answer column before checking it.
